Shoe Size Conversion Calculator

Convert a men's or women's shoe size between the US, UK, and EU sizing systems and foot length in centimeters, using a standard adult shoe-size conversion chart.

Results from this calculator are estimates provided for general informational purposes only, based on formulas, rates, and standards commonly accepted as of 2026. Figures may differ slightly from other calculators or professional sources due to rounding methods, differing assumptions, or regional regulations, and rules may change over time. Always consult a qualified professional — such as a financial advisor, healthcare provider, or other relevant specialist — before making decisions based on these results.

Men's and women's US sizes differ by about 1.5 sizes for the same physical foot length; UK, EU, and CM sizing is unisex.

What is a Shoe Size Conversion Calculator?

A shoe size conversion calculator translates a shoe size from one national sizing system into the equivalent size in another — US, UK, and EU are the three most common systems, and each numbers sizes completely differently for the same physical foot length. This makes shopping on international sites, buying imported brands, or reading a size chart from a different country confusing without a conversion reference.

This calculator uses a standard adult shoe-size conversion chart based on foot length, so you can convert in either direction — enter a known size in any system and see the equivalent in every other system, plus the underlying foot length in centimeters and inches.

How Shoe Sizes Relate to Foot Length

Every national sizing system is ultimately built on foot length, but each uses a different starting point and increment. US and UK sizes increase by whole and half sizes representing roughly 1/3 inch (8.46 mm) of length per size; EU (Paris point) sizing increases by 2/3 centimeter per size. Because the systems don't share a common zero point or step size, converting between them requires a lookup table rather than a simple formula.

  • US Men's ↔ Women's — Women's US sizes run about 1.5 sizes higher than Men's for the same physical length (a US Men's 9 ≈ US Women's 10.5).
  • UK — Unisex numbering, and close to US Men's sizing minus roughly 0.5–1 size.
  • EU — Unisex numbering based on foot length in centimeters × 1.5 (approximately), rounded to the nearest whole or half size.

Why Sizes Aren't Perfectly Convertible

Shoe size conversion charts are standardized approximations, not exact physical equivalents — a size that "converts" correctly on paper can still fit differently between brands, or even between different shoe models from the same brand, because of differences in last shape (the mold a shoe is built around), width, and material stretch. Always check a specific brand's own size chart when precision matters, especially for narrow or wide feet.

Measuring Your Foot Length Directly

For the most reliable conversion, measure your foot length directly rather than relying on a size you've worn before (sizes drift between brands and over time). Stand on a sheet of paper, mark your heel and longest toe, measure the distance in centimeters, and use that measurement with the "Foot Length (CM)" option above — this bypasses any ambiguity about which brand's US or UK size you actually wear.

Kids' Sizing Is a Separate System

This calculator covers adult sizing only. Children's shoes use an entirely separate numbering system (commonly starting around infant size 0 or 1 and running through "big kid" sizes before transitioning into adult numbering around US size 3.5–4), which isn't a simple continuation of the adult scale.

Example — Your Current Inputs

A US men's size 9.0 corresponds to a UK size 8.5, an EU size 42.5, and a foot length of about 27.5 cm (10.8 in).

Additional Example — Buying Imported Sneakers

A shopper who normally wears a US Men's size 10 is buying sneakers from a European retailer that only lists EU sizes. Looking up US Men's 10 on the conversion chart shows an EU size of 44 and a foot length of about 28.5 cm — so they'd select EU 44 (or the closest size the retailer offers) rather than guessing.

About These Parameters

Gender
Selects whether the US size column shown is Men's or Women's numbering. UK, EU, and centimeter sizes are unisex and don't change based on this selection.
Size System
The sizing system your known size is measured in — US, UK, EU, or a direct foot length measurement in centimeters.
Size
The numeric size value in your selected system. If your exact value falls between two standard sizes, the calculator matches you to the closest standard size.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why is my US Women's size different from my US Men's size?

US shoe brands publish separate size scales for men's and women's shoes, offset by about 1.5 sizes for the same physical foot length — a men's 9 is roughly equivalent to a women's 10.5. This is purely a labeling convention, not a difference in how the shoes are measured.

Are shoe size conversions exact?

No — they're standardized approximations. Actual fit varies by brand, shoe last (the mold used to shape the shoe), width, and material, so a converted size is a reliable starting point but not a guarantee of fit, especially across brands.

Does this calculator support kids' shoe sizes?

No. Children's shoes use a completely separate numbering system from adult sizes, so this calculator — built for adult US, UK, EU, and centimeter conversions — does not cover it.

What's the most reliable way to find my size in a new system?

Measure your actual foot length in centimeters and use that measurement directly, rather than converting from a remembered size in another system — this removes any uncertainty about which brand's sizing that remembered size was originally based on.
